Hi, I'm the one who contacted saigonnezumi about selling my bogu set since I knew he was practicing Kendo here.
I bought the bogu set from Eguchi, which was one of the main kendo equipment vendors for the Southern California Kendo Federation. Eguchi is currently undergoing restructuring so their website is down, but you can do a search for them online to learn more about their reputation, etc.
I bought the bogu set when I first started sparring in kendo several years ago; unfortunately time constraints and moving to Vietnam prevented me from being able to continue training and so I never used it beyond the one time in class. The set has been kept in excellent, like-new condition.
It will include the bogu, men, and do himo, all of which has only been worn once. If the buyer wants, I will also give my keikogi and hakama for free. Those have been used much more but are still in excellent condition.
The bogu set is a 5.5mm set and should fit a person who is roughly 165.1 centimeters and who weighs roughly 59.1 kilograms.
It is in the US right now, but if anybody is seriously interested, I will ask a friend to bring it over when he comes to Vietnam at the end of this month. You can of course try it out first before buying and dont have to buy it if it doesnt suit you, but I would appreciate it if you please make sure you are serious about buying the set. I'm sure you all know how difficult it can be to have soemthing like this brought through customs.
As Saigonnezumi said, I bought it for US$750 and would like to sell it for US$400. VND equivalent is okay.
I will try to have pictures taken and posted up this weekend, but in the meantime please feel free to contact me if anybody is interested.
